Ford Escape CH1Kit™ Shift Cable Bushing Repair Kit
As a fix for my issue with the connection between the shift cable and shaft on the shift lever, this seems to fit well. The issue I have is that this is about 15 cents worth of part and because BushingFix.com knows it is fully necessary for function, they are really into price gouging. I mean 25 dollar for a small plastic (I suspect 3D Printed ring with a thousand percent mark-up) and then the charge 5 dollar more for shipping and handling. WOW! I sure hope they are not lying about it being made to outlast the OEM. I mean really, it time for other manufacturer to invest in 3d printing and form some competition. Heck even if FORD made the part and charged the normal FORD markups, it could be cheaper (or at least reasonable)!

CH1KIT
Fast and prompt service, Kit worked fine, Nice product, but I thought for what I received that it was very high priced but since you seem to be the only one that sells this bushing for this repair that is to be expected and I probably would get another one if needed.

Bushing
Perfect! No auto parts store has the correct size bushing that I needed for my shift linkage. When this arrived in the mail, I had the new bushing in place and the cable mounted back in place in less than 10 minutes. Very easy to install.

Bushing Replacement
As with most things on newer vehicles these days, we are not meant to work on them. But with places like BushingFix, we are able to repair the small items without having to go to the auto shop for a big ticket repair.

Worked exactly as described
Part fit perfectly and was very easy to install. I found additional info from third party YouTube videos that helped as well. Basically, the steps to repair the under-hood connection are:
- remove battery
- remove air filter housing
- now you can reach the connection easily
- unlock and reposition the gear shifter by popping the small tab on the top of the steering column and pushing the override down
- push the gear selector under the hood all the way to reach park
- replace the bushing in the arm
- snap the arm back on to the shaft
- put the air filter housing and battery back in
- drive away! -
Easy fix
For once, something that was as easy to fix and use as is advertised. I was told I needed an new shift cable for my 2002 Ford Escape. Turned out I just needed a new bushing to attach the cable to the shift arm. Even with having to squeeze my large forearm down the back of the engine, I still had this installed in less than 10 minutes. Hear that? No special tools, no mechanic...10 minutes! Saved a lot of money in parts and labor and the car is good to go.
