A professional can perform this repair in under 5 minutes, average time for a non-professional is less than 10 minutes. This bushing is made from a material that was designed to outlast the factory bushing and includes everything needed to install.  Bushing Fix® IM1KIT™- Transmission Shift Cable Bushing Repair Kit ™; (US Patent # 10,215,273 and US Patent # 10,619,723).

      The bushing works, seems to keep everything connected. Only time will tell how well it holds up, I've great confidence in it.
      However the fact it comes with the installation tools to press fit the bushing in place is so very nice! Added a bit of kitchen soap and used some pliers to press it into place, very simple. I didn't even try it without the soap for lubricant. I really didn't want to be crawling under and out over and over.

      Was Able To Still Use

      the part was received in a timely manner however, the red pin piece quickly snapped off while try to install the bushing. I had watched the no brainer video four to five times, My bushing fit much tighter and was more diffiult to install than the demo was. I had cleaned the shift cable opening and checked for burrs or anything causing the restriction. After the pin going through the bushing snapped off i continued to use the head to help push the bushing in so not to damage the bushing itself. With a small amount of lube on the opening it finally snapped through and now works flawlessly without issues and has been in now for about a week. I would still buy the product again. It is far cheaper and easier than replacing a shift cable. Most parts houses were not aware of this item or don't have such in stock but will certainly sell you a new cable for a lot more money. If you don't have the skills to put the cable in, that will cost you one to two hours depending on which end is involved. This is money in the bank I found on-line by accident. Didn't know it existed. Now I tell everyone about the product.
